ABOUT FREDERICO
The desire to develop a natural hair care product line was inspired within Frederico Bausier since early childhood. While living in Botswana, Frederico would travel with his mother to visit a friend’s home. There, women from their community would gather to get their hair done. It was so popular that Frederico and his mother would often have to wait in line. While waiting, Frederico would watch with curiosity as the women would have their hair styled to suit their hair type in different braids, afros or twists.
Frederico marveled at the stylist’s transformations of the women’s hair. One of the key aspects of each transformation was applying different colored substances from clear plastic bags. Frederico wondered what the different colored substances were and would ask his mother. Her response in a stern voice would be “Kutula Behsebe” which meant “Boy just look and be quiet” in Kimbundu (an Angolan dialect).
Frederico would later learn the different colored substances were yellow butter and brown hair oil. After migrating to the United States, Frederico wondered why so many people used hair care products that contained harsh chemicals that left their hair dry and damaged. Why spend so much money on something that didn’t work well when there was an effective natural alternative? Thus, the Frederico Bausier product line was launched in 2018 with a full suite of hair care products developed from natural ingredients that considered the well being of the environment in addition to the health of our customers. A product made “For the curly people”.
